2024 Tournament Recap:
Great hockey, great food, and great fun made the U9 Hockey Day in Canada Tournament one to remember!
The Annual Hockey Day in Canada tournament was going to the be first full ice tournament for Embro Edge’s U9 2023-2024 team and they played super well! This awesome game play was proven in their close scores all day! The first game ended with a heart clenching shoot out, with Embro losing to Burford 1, 3-2. The second game was also close with a final score of 5-4, with Paris taking the win. In the finals, Embro yet again faced a shoot out due to a tied game and ecstatically Embro won with a final score of 5-4 against Mount Brydges. The U9’s played hard and were familiarizing themselves with playing positions and offsides.
Aside from all the hockey the U9 families worked together to organize and run a successful chili lunch, Gift Card Tree Raffle and a 50/50 draw. The team received multiple comments throughout the day that the tournament was well run and that it was overall a great tournament! We would like to thank all the teams for coming out to the tournament and we would like to thank The Oxford Dairy Producers for donating milk, Sassy’s for their donation of fresh buns and Bickles for apples. Each of these items were appreciated and enjoyed with lunch!
Hockey is a large part of Canada and this day proved our community's commitment to minor hockey in Canada!
